MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE
All transformation starts with deeper self-awareness.
The story behind #she4him
"After many years as a leadership advisor, watching every shade of 'dysfunction' unfold, and also prompted by loosing two good mates to suicide - it was clear that more needs to be done regarding Men's Mental Health - also as a woman!
So, I stepped up and became an active advocate for Men's Mental Health. It was a steep learning curve ... which now allows me to understand the struggles and challenges men face much better. It has also created a whole new level of respect for men and ... more compassion.
It required however, that I went to town with my own bias and stereotyped brainwashing of what 'masculinity' truly means.
My work is mainly as a writer and illustrator but ... I am also a qualified counsellor, holistic nutritionist and art & nature therapist - and study neuroscience and the mind.
I try to help in my own - often creative way - to encourage more safe spaces, open new dialogues to help end this stigma of silence and shame that still surrounds Men's Mental Health issues. And ... I created some dedicated self-help books and tools just for men:
The Indigo Warrior Soul range.
When men dare to heal, and speak up, they inspire others ... and such a positive ripple-effect is a truly powerful thing!
Let hope float!
